You’ve got one shot, one opportunity…to capture the kind of wedding photos that actually represent you. As your Detroit wedding photographer, I’m here to make sure they do.

I became a wedding photographer to help you do just that!
Camera equipment including a Canon camera with a large lens, additional lenses, a digital audio recorder, a remote control, a closed laptop, a black bag, and a black and white sneaker hanging off a wooden stool, all on a white surface.
A hand making the peace sign with the index and middle fingers raised, and the thumb, ring, and pinky fingers folded down. The hand has reddish-brown painted nails.
A young woman with long hair, glasses, and a big smile kneeling on a wooden pier with a camera in her hands, city skyline and a bridge in the background.

It all started when…

Growing up, I was ALWAYS watching romcoms with my mom, or shows like Say Yes to the Dress, 90 Day Fiancé, or something of the like. With spending so much time watching those, I fell in love with love at an early age. I guess somewhere between watching people say yes to the dress and watching fictional couples run through airports or kiss in the rain, I knew I wanted to be part of love stories.

Now, as a Detroit wedding photographer, I get to do exactly that: document real love stories as they unfold. Whether I'm photographing weddings in Detroit or anywhere across Michigan, my goal is always the same. I want to capture the moments that feel honest, emotional, and uniquely yours.

I’ve always been that person who wanted to hang onto a moment a little longer. I’ve felt the overwhelm of trying to make everything perfect and the freedom of realizing you don’t have to. That’s why I do this. Because your love deserves to be documented with photos that feel like you, by a Detroit wedding photographer who values genuine connection over perfect poses.

When it came to picking up a camera, I’ve literally always had one in my hand. I remember going to the Auto Show when I was a kid and running around with a disposable camera, taking photos of anything and everything I could. That's where my love for photography started.

Once I got into high school, everything clicked for me. I took a photo class, got my first DSLR camera, and started photographing concerts. I’ve been doing this for 15 years now, and I know for sure there is absolutely nothing I’d rather be doing with my life.

As a Detroit wedding photographer, weddings are my happy place. Documenting love stories for couples throughout Detroit, Michigan, and across the country has been the best part of my life so far. Every wedding is different, and that's exactly what I love. Your story deserves to be captured in a way that feels honest, timeless, and completely you.

HEY

I’M katy

metro detroit wedding photographer for bad as f*** couples!

Welcome to my little corner of the internet. I’m Metro Detroit based wedding photographer but I’ll happily hop on a plane if your love story takes us somewhere new. Travel fuels me almost as much as a good cocktail and yelling at the Detroit Red Wings like they can hear me through the TV.

Why do I do what I do? I freaking love love. It’s that simple.

Meininger Media is built on fun, authenticity, honesty, and inclusivity. I’m here to capture the weird, the wild, the “omg can you believe that just happened” energy? That’s what I live for. There is a 90% chance I will cry at your wedding, fair warning. 15 years ago when I started out, I was photographing 3-5 concerts a month. It taught me how to move fast, feel energy, and capture moments as they unfold. So, whether you’re throwing a full-blown party or planning a quiet elopement in the woods, I’m here for it.
