Adrian + Kendall’s Wedding at The Norwood
You know that feeling when you first meet someone and you’re like, “dang, we’re gonna be great friends.” Well, that’s what it was like when these two first reached out and we met up for their engagement. Fast forward to their wedding…I laughed, I cried a little, and had a damn good time.
Cementing a couple’s lifelong memories through photography is truly an honor. But what gets me the most are the couples who let me be part of their journey. Adrian and Kendall had a stunning wedding at The Norwood with all the charm and character you’d expect from a Detroit gem. But beyond the details, I was there for their engagement session, and then again when they said ‘I do.’ From the early planning to the wedding day itself, being by their side through it all was an absolute joy. Being a Detroit Wedding Photographer truly is one of the best jobs I could have ever asked for in this life.
This wedding at The Norwood in Detroit wasn’t about all the normal traditions, it was about truth. It was about two badass humans throwing the kind of party that felt exactly like them: full of heart, full of hype, and fueled by damn good food and a village that loves hard.
If you’re the kind of couple who cares more about dancing your face off, eating bomb food, and being surrounded by the people who get you more than following any kind of “should,” you’re going to be obsessed with this one.

Before the ceremony kicked off, Adrian and Kendall shared a quiet moment downstairs for a first look and private vow reading, just the two of them. No audience. No pressure. Just some time together to have room to breathe and be fully present.
The ceremony itself was stunning, full of warmth, laughter, and that palpable kind of love you can feel in your chest. And because they did a first look, they got to spend cocktail hour mingling with their people. Watching them hug their friends, laugh with their families, and soak in every second made it clear: these two are wildly loved. Seeing a couple’s community show up that hard is my favorite part about a wedding day.
I feel like I’m giving a play by play talking about this wedding, but the reception was straight-up electric. The dance floor stayed packed all night, with Adrian and his mom absolutely owning it for most of the evening. The energy was high, the joy was louder, and the love in that room? Unreal. From start to finish, this day was a reminder that the best weddings aren’t about perfection, they’re about presence.
