Katelyn and Ryan’s Wedding at Batch 154 in Pontiac, Michigan
Alrighty now friends. Don’t come at me for writing this blog months after this wedding. I had full intentions of posting this in a reasonable amount of time, but life got busy and now here we are.
This wedding is one that meant a lot to me. For it to be at a beautiful venue like Batch 154, made it that much better. Hit me right in the feels.
Story time: I met Katelyn back in 2017 (I think lol) when I started working at a photo studio near my house. We clicked almost instantly and she took me under her wing. With that, we became fast friends. The funny thing is, before her, I had never met another Katelyn who spelled it the same way. We always joke about it because I hate being called Katelyn, and she doesn’t really like being called Katy so it works out perfectly for us.
Everyone has those people at work that they become such good friends with that you know its gonna sting so bad when they leave. It was a good thing we left that job together, and got new jobs together. I truly don’t know what I would do without Katelyn being in my life. She’s had my back in some of the toughest situations, and I’ve done the same for her.
These two were already together when we met, so I’ve never known her without Ryan around. There were so many days he would come to the studio and eat lunch with us, or just stop by to say hey to her because he had a free second. It was and still is the sweetest thing to me.
I’ll spare you years of stories, just know when it came time for her and Ryan to finally tie the damn knot, let’s just say I was EMOTIONAL.
Their ceremony took place on the rooftop of Batch 154, overlooking the city of Pontiac, Michigan. With the skyline in the background and the people they love most surrounding them, it was really something special. Katelyn’s oldest nephew walked her mom down the aisle, and her youngest nephew rocked the role of “ring security,” and their nieces made the absolute sweetest flower girls.
Both of her brother in laws walked her down the aisle, and it just goes to show like I mention all the time, I LOVE SEEING YOUR VILLAGES SHOW UP FOR YOU. I may have been silently crying behind my camera during their ceremony, but what else is new?

Let me talk about the vendor team for the day because it was absolutely elite.
My best pal Jen was my second photographer for the day, Matthew from Uptempo Entertainment kept the energy on 100 the whole night.
Sam from Record Everything Cinematic was their videographer, and is hands-down one of the kindest, most easygoing humans I’ve worked with. This is truly the kind of team you hope for on every wedding day.
As for the venue itself Batch 154 in Pontiac, Michigan is a dream for couples who love a little mood and edge. The space is industrial but warm, modern but cozy, and 100% photo friendly. The layout is easy to navigate, which is so important for a wedding day. It’s really important to note that the staff was unbelievably kind, and everyone I talked to raved about how cool and comfortable it felt the entire evening.
With that being said, if you're looking for a Pontiac wedding venue that’s stylish, flexible, and doesn’t feel like every other ballroom I can say I 10/10 recommend.
And because no wedding day is complete without a little chaos, Katelyn iced the groomsmen. Yup. The Smirnoff surprise came out during her first look with them and they took it like champs. It was hilarious, unexpected (well, the ladies knew and so did Jen, Sam and I). Just one more reason this day was as fun as it was emotional.
Katelyn and Ryan’s day was emotional, vibrant, and full of so much love. One I’ll hold close for a long, long time. To see what I mean, scroll through the photos below!
